We’ve been proud to serve the farming and construction community along the M4 corridor, covering South, West, East and Mid Wales and exporting frequently across the globe. Always ‘servicing what we sell’ with the experience of our loyal and committed 75 staff working from four strategically placed locations, Whitland, Crymych, Cowbridge and more recently Raglan with the story beginning over 50 years ago.

When was the business started and by whom? Pryd a Sut dechreuodd y busnes?
From Little Acorns, starting the journey in Crymych in 1972, John Hill followed by two of his sons Mike and Dave began building a reputable business, expanding premises which then led to the extended territory with a base in Whitland. This was soon outgrown and a purpose built facility opened in 1983 and by none other than Helmut Claas, founding member of the Claas Group. This facility has also expanded with an additional 5 acres in recent years and new storage facility to accommodate the ever growing foragers, combines etc.
1992 saw Riverlea offered the opportunity to grow their territory even further and combined a branch which had previously opened the year before in Bridgend, to cover Southeast Wales with the CASE construction brand. By 1994 the premises had again outgrown the facilities we needed, this is when the agricultural part of the business moved to Cowbridge. Raglan became the latest expansion project, giving Riverlea a fantastic location to service Monmouthshire, parts of Gloucestershire, Powys and beyond, supported again by many loyal customers to us as a dealer and the brands that we continue to sell.
Dechreuwyd y cwmni yn 1972 ac adeiladodd John Hill a’i feibion cwmni llewyrchus, yn tyfu’r lleoliad gyda’r cartref yn Hendy Gwyn a’r Daf. Yn fuan, roedd y lleoliad yn rhy fach ac agorwyd lle yn 1983 gan Helmut Claas, aelod cyntaf y grŵp Claas.
Yn 1992 cafodd Riverlea y cyfle i ymestyn a tyfodd lleoliad ym Mhenybont a’r Ogwr i wasanaethu ardal Dde Ddwyrain Cymru gyda CASE.
Erbyn 1994 roedd y cwmni wedi tyfu eto ac roedd angen symud i’r Bontfaen. Raglan oedd y prosiect diweddaraf, yn galluogi Riverlea i wasanaethu Sir Fynwy a rhan o Gaerloyw, Powys ac ymhellach.
What are your unique selling points? Beth yw cryfderau’r cwmni?
We take pleasure knowing that the machinery we retail are solid reliable brands who provide good back up to us as a dealer, with our endeavour to pass onto our customers through our engineers, sales team, and parts staff.
Confidence continues to grow as we see that the machinery is becoming more reliable as technology progresses, something which we strive to embrace, allowing us to become more efficient as time moves forward. With our long standing and experienced staff – and not forgetting the up and coming younger ones – we will continue to support our customers with our knowledge and expertise to the best of our ability, which is something Riverlea have always been reputable for in providing excellent service/back up.

How does Riverlea support the agricultural community? Sut mae Riverlea yn cefnogi’r gymuned amaethyddol?
We support local shows where we are able across our large territory, but always look to engage and support Young Farmers and various charities with contributions. Holding events such as Young Farmers evenings, specific events to showcase individual manufacturers as we feel the intimacy can be more informative for our customers, who often admit to learning from the experience.
You will find us at the Winter Fair at Builth Wells, where during the summer months we support our manufacturers who always offer a warm welcome to our customers in return. During our 20 years holding the famous Riverlea Spring Show at Carmarthen showground, we raised thousands of pounds for various charities including Air Ambulance Wales, MND, Prostate Cancer UK to name but a few.
Rydym yn cefnogi sioeau lleol pan yn bosib ac yn cefnogi Mudiad y CFFI ac elusennau. Yn cynnal noswaithu agored i’r CFFI a noswaithu penodol sydd yn edrych ar y brandiau er mwyn gwella’r wybodaeth i’r cwsmeriaid.
Mae Riverlea yn edrych ‘mlaen at fynychu’r Ffair Aeaf yn Llanelwedd. Dros yr 20 mlynedd o gynnal Sioe Wanwyn Riverlea ar faes y sioe yng Nghaerfyrddin rydym wedi codi miloedd o bunnoedd tuag at elusennau Ambiwlans Awyr Cymru, MND, Prostate Cancer UK i enwi ond ychydig.
